Your Assessment

Access interview

Assessment services are usually carried out at one of our centres but our approach is flexible to meet your needs and we can also offer assessments at home, school, online or over the phone.

During the assessment we identify your support needs and based on these we can demonstrate a range of equipment, including assistive software, ergonomic equipment, recording devices and other items for you to make an informed choice.

Step 1
We have six assessment centres for you to choose from. Once you have decided which suits you best complete the online booking form. It will help if you are able to provide your medical evidence and funding approval documents at this stage.
Step 2
You will be contacted by a member of our team within two working days of you contacting us to arrange your appointment.  We may request any additional information at this time to ensure your assessment runs as smoothly as possible.
Step 3
Your appointment with one of our qualified assessors will be an informal meeting lasting up to two hours. The assessor will discuss the way your disability may impact on your studies and talk about the various options available.  This time will be fully focussed on a positive approach to your situation.
Step 4
A needs assessment report will be produced following your appointment and you will receive a copy within 10 working days. If you are happy with the recommendations, we will liaise with funding bodies, equipment suppliers and the HE institution on your behalf to ensure you have the right support recommended for you.
